DENPASAR, Radar Bali - IPB International is ready to establish an educational program in the field of filmmaking to produce young professional filmmakers. Collaborating with PT Asymmetry Movie Studio, IPB International introduces Bali Film School. The educational program was initiated with a presentation by the Director of Bali Film School, Topaz Peretz, a graduate of a university in the United States, held at the Auditorium of IPB International on Monday (31/10).

Dr. I Made Sudjana, SE, MM, CHT, CHA, the Rector of IPB International, stated that this program is developed in response to the growing film industry. This condition is marked by the significant number of young Indonesian filmmakers, especially in Bali, who produce short films. He emphasized that Bali, as an international tourism destination, is expected to become a film production hub and requires the involvement of the younger generation so that they don't only become spectators.

"We know that Bali has extraordinary charm and often serves as a shooting location for international films, such as 'Eat, Pray, Love' starring Julia Roberts. Therefore, it is crucial for the younger generation to ensure that the film industry in Bali continues to thrive," he said.

Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Gede Astina, M.Pd, CHT, CHA, the Chairman of Dharma Widya Ulangun Foundation, expressed that the foundation, as the organizer of IPB International Campus, always encourages the rector and his team to innovate and seize existing opportunities. He mentioned that currently, many young people are engaged in filmmaking, particularly in short films. Given Bali's position as an international tourism destination, there is a significant need for expertise in the film industry. This is the underlying reason behind the establishment of Bali Film School. "As the foundation, we will provide support, including equipment and facilities. We have also collaborated with PT Asymmetry Movie Studio," he emphasized.

Topaz Peretz, representing PT Asymmetry Movie Studio and serving as the Director of Bali Film School, stated that this educational program provides an opportunity for the younger generation to enter the film industry. Bali Film School, he mentioned, will offer not only film education but also integration into the workforce in the film industry. "In Bali Film School, students will gain hands-on practice, experience in film production, and internships. This way, they will be well-prepared to enter the workforce, especially in the film industry," he said, emphasizing that Bali Film School will be taught by professors from the United States who are experts in the field of filmmaking.
