DENPASAR, iNews.id - The International Institute of Tourism and Business (IPBI) has formed a partnership with PT Asymmetry Movie Studio. The partnership aims to merge the art of filmmaking with the importance of business and tourism through the Bali Film School.

The partnership was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at the IPBI Campus in North Denpasar on Thursday (14/9/20220). The signing was done by I Nyoman Gede Astina, Chairman of the Dharma Widya Ulangun Foundation on behalf of the International Institute of Tourism and Business (IPBI), and Topaz Peretz, CEO Founder of PT Asymmetry Movie Studio on behalf of PT. Asymmetry Movie Studio.

Under this partnership, Bali Film School students will be assigned tasks such as creating content like chef's video reels or spa advertisements. By integrating both sectors, the students are expected to have a better understanding of each other's work, leading to better collaboration in their future careers. "IPBI focuses on the tourism industry. We now see an increasing need for hotels, restaurants, and similar businesses to have top-level photos and videos to promote their businesses," said Astina.

Bali Film School's slogan is "Where Art Meets Business." Astina added that the film students will learn how to use film equipment, work on film sets, understand the different roles and responsibilities involved in producing a film, and study Indonesian and international film sets.

"They will learn about the art of filmmaking and quality Hollywood scriptwriting," he said. Meanwhile, Topaz Peretz is a film producer and director who graduated from the New York Film Academy. He has worked in the Hollywood film industry for 5 years, directing 9 feature productions and 12 short films. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Topaz decided to come to Bali and establish his production company on the Island of the Gods. While evaluating the Indonesian film market, Topaz identified several potential gaps that could be filled by establishing a film school in partnership with IPBI. "I think there's something special about bringing together a group of fresh minds and equipping them with new skills," said Topaz. According to him, this new way of self-expression and this new industry were previously inaccessible to them or they may not have been aware that they could be a part of it. "To then give them access and empower them with knowledge, networks, and experiences," said Topaz.
